create/edit /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla with:

sudo gedit /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla

and insert


[Re-enable hibernate by default]
Identity=unix-user:*
Action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernate
ResultActive=yes
